Odin Automation Essentials Update to Help Hosts Bundle Microsoft Cloud

Odin Automation Essentials, a cloud service delivery platform released last year for cloud service providers to provision, manage and sell both cloud and self-hosted services, is getting an update.

The new release of Odin Automation (OA) Essentials will include significant capabilities for hosting service providers, Ingram Micro said in an announcement Monday at World Hosting Days in Germany.

The new release, scheduled for release in early Q2 2017, provides additional revenue-generating opportunities for hosting providers through bundling Microsoft cloud services, domain registration, as well as shared and VPS hosting services with a hosting providers’ own professional services, according to the announcement. A report released last week by Microsoft and 451 Research outlined the opportunities around professional services for hosting providers.

“Service providers face ongoing product and service commoditization in an increasingly competitive marketplace,” Nimesh Davé, EVP, Global Cloud, Ingram Micro said in a statement. “The upcoming release of Odin Automation Essentials makes it much easier for service providers to sell, deliver and administer differentiating, higher-margin cloud and hosted services within a single platform, utilizing one interface.”

In addition to being able to bundle Microsoft cloud services with popular shared hosting and VPS plans, hosting providers can sell WordPress hosting plans through the latest stock version of Plex Onyx and 12.5 on Windows and Linux.

Service providers can also offer VMs and containers using the latest technologies like Virtuozzo 7, Ingram Micro says.

For hosting service providers that need more scalability and multi-cloud management, Odin Automation Premium offers the new hosting services and shares the same code base with OA Essentials, Ingram Micro says. The next version of OA Premium will help service providers automate IoT and XaaS services delivery management.

“Instead of having to juggle multiple providers and products to build our own platform, we can simplify everything by using Odin Automation Essentials as the foundation for our hosting and cloud business,” said Jürgen Weber, CEO at WEBERcloud, Germany. “This will enable us to expand and add products and services as our clients demand them, deepen customer relationships and take advantage of higher margins with a wider portfolio of services.”
